Alex
Perez’s distinguished law school career prepared him for his
work as a successful litigator, graduating cum laude from
Tulane University School of Law and seeking experiences in
litigation beginning in his first year of law school. Alex
was a student attorney for nearly one year at the Tulane
Criminal Litigation Clinic where he represented indigent
defendants in criminal district court, including preparing
and arguing motions and trial preparation. In this
capacity, he
was admitted to limited practice under Rule XX of the
Louisiana Supreme Court. Alex's
work afforded him
extensive trial preparation and courtroom experience most
young associates do not have at the start of their careers.
Prior to that, he assisted lead counsel at the Eastern
District of Louisiana’s office of the Federal Public
Defender where Alex
conducted fact investigations, prepared and responded to
pre-trial motions, drafted appellate briefs, and assisted
counsel at trial.
Alex
successfully completed extensive coursework in Admiralty and
Maritime Personal Injury and Death, Marine Insurance, and
Vessel Documentation and Finance. He also served as the
Managing Editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal.
Alex
focuses his practice in the
areas of admiralty and maritime litigation, marine
insurance, Jones Act and Passenger Claims, Recreational
marine, and Marine Products Liability.
